Q: What are some of the improved capabilities of our new CNC machine?
Bryant Kobe: On a high level, our new CNC machine can now cut materials up to 5' x 10', compared to the previous limit of 4' x 8'. This allows us to work with larger materials, reducing seams and improving overall efficiency. Additionally, we now have double the number of tool holders, which means fewer manual tool changes and more machining options for fabricated parts. Another major improvement is the larger motor, which enables us to cut all materials, especially denser ones like solid surface, faster and with cleaner edges. This upgrade expands our creative and material handling options, giving us more design freedom and production speed.
Q: How does this upgraded CNC machine improve the value of our services?
BK: The biggest benefits are faster cutting speeds, increased accuracy, and enhanced reliability. With less downtime for tool changes and greater cutting precision, we can deliver higher-quality parts more efficiently, reducing lead times for our clients. This means faster production without compromising on quality. Clients benefit from quicker turnarounds and consistent quality, which is especially valuable for time-sensitive projects.
Q: How does the upgraded CNC machine impact your work as a production engineer?
BK: This machine gives our production engineers more flexibility when designing parts. We can now work with larger components and optimize material yield more effectively. This means we can reduce waste, minimize machining time, and streamline the overall build process, ultimately leading to better efficiency and cost savings for our clients.
